![]() Dear Friend, How are you? I’m well. In September 2020, I read a Derek Prince’ book “The Coming Revival.” I found it very interesting to know in the book that there was only a time Derek Prince ever heard the audible voice of God. It was when he lived in London in 1953, and the Lord spoke to him: “There shall be a great revival in the United States and Great Britain.” I was impressed to know that the Lord revealed His very important plan of Him. I think the two countries were personally meaningful to him, as his mother country and the country of his citizenship, but at the end of the day, I believe it would mean the very latter rains to all the nations in the last days. I read the seven pivotal factors for the coming worldwide revival in his book: loving others; loving god; humbling ourselves; eliminating legalism; unmasking witchcraft; getting desperate; and purifying ourselves. I have understood from many preachers that we must be conformed to the image of Jesus and have love, as God is love. So, I understand why Derek Prince also wrote loving God and loving others as the first two factors. But, when I read the factor, “Unmasking Witchcraft,” I was surprised. I’ve heard so many prophets these days warn against witchcrafts in church and witchcrafts in transition. Interestingly, Derek Prince wrote about “Unmasking Witchcraft” as one of the key factors for the coming revival. Under that factor, he wrote about witchcraft in disguise and witchcraft in church. And I think the definition of witchcraft he shared is enlightening: I said to God, ‘Lord, what is this?’ And this is the answer He gave me: ‘It is witchcraft.’ I said, ‘Lord, what do You mean by witchcraft?’ I was asking God for His definition because I always think in terms of definitions. The definition He gave me is one I have used in this section to explain the nature of this evil spiritual force: ‘Witchcraft is the attempt to control people and get them to do what you want by the use of any spirit that is not the Holy Spirit.’ Then He gave me an additional insight: ‘If anyone has a spirit that he or she can ‘use,’ it is not the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit is God, and no one uses God.’[1] He went ahead to write some examples of witchcraft in church as some church leaders or ministers, who manipulate their supporters to raise funds and others, who abuse spiritual gifts. After reading the chapter “Unmasking Witchcraft” in his book, the dream I previously had made more sense to me. It was on August 18th. I had a dream where I was in honeymoon. Then, two persons that I knew were under the influence of the spirit of control came to my honeymoon. I said to them something like “Enough is enough!” In another scene, a celebrity man was running away, and I chased after him and was finally able to catch him. I gave him the word of admonition. Later, I saw some numbers, which would tell that I won! When I woke up from the dream, I felt that the dream was symbolic. I felt that the honeymoon was my intimate relationship with the Lord, and I became brave to renounce the witchcraft spirit that had been torturing me and hindering my relationship with Him. Warning the celebrity man would also mean renouncing the evil spirit and the numbers I felt I won in something would mean I have victory in spiritual warfare. Indeed, we would need Discerning Spirit in order to discern witchcraft, both in the church and in the world, and we need to ask the Holy Spirit to equip us to win the spiritual battle and to quicken the coming revival. Dear Friend, I would like to share Derek Prince’ teaching on this, which I thankfully found online, as I wrote this blog, if you are interested. I pray that we understand the critical factors for the coming revival to the nations and yearn for the harvest wholeheartedly in Jesus’ name. Have a bliss! Yunee [1] Prince, Derek.
