![]() Dear Friend, How are you? I’m well. Earlier, I encouraged us to look upon Jesus, no matter what may come. Today, I would like to encourage us with His words: “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:6~7)” He said this, when He taught the fear of God. Later in the chapter, He told His disciples not to worry: “Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?” Last year, I wanted to bless Irene Wong, an artist in Singapore, by ordering her paintings. And I also wanted to bless other friend of mine by giving Irene’s paintings. In her website, I really loved her painting called “Remember the Sparrow.” Together with other painting of her, I asked Irene to deliver it to a friend of mine in Singapore, whom she also knows. I said to my friend she could give the paintings to others, if she has no space to hang in her place. Then, she gave the painting to a Pastor whom both of us are much blessed by. She took a picture of the Pastor and his wife’s holding the picture in their new flat and the Pastor texted me to say thanks. My friend said the painting suits the theme of the interior in his new flat. I was so glad to see that Irene’s beautiful painting blessed the Pastor’s family. Friend, do you believe He cares for you? He who created the sparrows and the lilies and cares for them cares for each one of us. I’ve been touched by the goodness of our Father so many times when I do grocery shopping online or offline. Every time when I thought of something to buy, I found out it’s on sales or on 1+1 promotion. One day, when I went to a nearby grocery store to buy beans, I smiled, seeing the very kind of bean I wanted to buy on sales. There were other kinds of beans at a normal price but the bean that I wanted to buy was the only bean on sales. I smiled, as I repeatedly see His goodness. When I tried to buy anchovy on line, again, among the different kinds of anchovies, the very kind I wanted to buy was on 50% of sales. The price I could save was not really much, yet in all these small amount of discounts, I feel our Father cares. He knows what I needed. And He is so kind that He gives me joy to buy them at a good price. These days, I often thought of His goodness that He provided me with two favorite flavors of cookies from Marks and Spencer through a friend of mine who had no idea on that, when I left Singapore for good. I wrote the story in the very first blog here, and I would never forget it. That experience continues to remind me that He cares for me. Indeed, He counts the very hairs of our heads. Friend, I’d like to encourage each one of us to fear the Lord and trust His faithfulness, no matter what may come. He cares for you and me. Remember the sparrows. Remember the lilies. We do not worry about tomorrow, but seek the Kingdom of God. Have a bliss! Yunee Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Comments are closed.
