![]() Dear Friend, How are you? I still remember the late pastor in my Korean church said during his sermon, “Demons live in messy, dirty and unordered places. I encourage you to keep your place clean.” I think it was perhaps two decades ago. It was quite refreshing to hear that, although I wasn’t interested in demonic stuffs and spiritual realms at that time. Then, when I read a Derek Prince’s book, “Entering the Presence of God” two years ago, I found his explanation on the showbread in the Tabernacle very interesting. “ … the bread has to be ordered. There have to be twelve loaves, in two rows of six. You don’t have seven in one row and five in another. This is where many Christians, charismatics in particular, can get sloppy. Without discipline, you cannot be a disciple. If you don’t think it matters that you have five loaves in one row and seven in another, you do not think like God. God says six loaves in each row, opposite of one another. Not haphazard; not askew. If your will is like that, your desk, your office, and your kitchen will be like that. If you have trouble keeping order in your life, check the showbread.” {Prince, Derek. Entering the Presence of God (p. 76, 77). Whitaker House. Kindle Edition.} I think it has something in common with what my late pastor said. I found that our God, the Father, wants us to be orderly not only in our minds and thoughts, but also in our practical tangible living. Then, later when I listened to Sister Margaret Seaward’s sermon that a brother in my Singapore church had sent, I heard her saying, “Do you know God has order?” Then she said husbands are the heads of wives and Jesus is the head of Church and Heads make decisions. She also said, “In my early age in marriage, I thought I was smarter than my husband,” sharing an interesting real story as a metaphor, to teach what it is like not to have a right head. Later, I also heard David Pawson teach that God has order. Israel first, and then Gentiles; Husbands first, and then wives. It’s not that He prefers one to the other, but He has order. I think that these faithful servants of God understood He has order and I got to learn being in order is godly. In our systems such as family and society, we have order. And I think something against the order is demonic, which I believe is provoked by the spirit of rebellion. We know that medical students and doctors should operate like the military and any orders from above must be listened to and obeyed, as they deal with critical situations that might risk patients’ lives. I think both military and hospitals have something in common. There are orders to be obeyed, as they are critical to our safety and our lives. And I think God expects that order to be in place in our family, school, churches, nations and so on, and it’s also critical to our lives. But I think there is rebellious spirit if children don’t listen to parents, wives make decision not in agreement with husbands, students don’t listen to teachers, and so on. I find we are called as warriors many times in the Bible and we are literally warriors and soldiers whose head is Jesus. If we are the followers of Jesus, His soldiers, I think we must know what He said to children, wives, subordinates and citizens. During my winter break with my family in California in 2019, in many shopping malls, I was quite surprised to see clothes and other shopping stuffs scattered everywhere on the floor and some customers happen to step on them. Not only that, but some clothes were hung in the wrong places; Extra-Large size is in Small size or the other way round. In shoe boxes, sometimes one pair was missing, only the other pair was left out. One day in a department store, an old lady, one of the employees in the store was tidying up shoe boxes and shoes that were scattered over here and there, not in the shelf. When she and I were alone together in front of the shelf, and made an eye contact, she said to me, so frustrated, “I cannot understand these people! I CANNOT!!!” I didn’t know what words could comfort her at that time, but I said to her, “Yes, it’s sad.” So much more mess in public restrooms in shopping malls. I believe our Father wants order, no matter whether it’s physical or tangible things or whether it’s a system such as family, schools, or nations. I think wherever there is order, His Spirit is in there. Wherever things are in disorder, there is the enemy. Dear Friend, I pray you and I put everything in our home, work, school, church and so forth in order in Jesus’ name. Have a bliss! Yunee A wise heart takes orders; Comments are closed.
