![]() Dear Friend, How are you today? I’m well. One day in 2019, I listened to a Korean pastor’s sermon online, and he shared the story of my pastor in Seoul church during his sermon. When my pastor was in the middle school, he heard his own pastor quote Jesus’ teaching, “When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.” So, he used to pray, “Lord, You know everything.” And that was all his prayer. He continued on saying “Lord, You know everything,” until he went to university. So, practically, he didn’t pray, except saying “Lord, You know everything.” When listening to his story in the sermon, I smiled, and it sounded so familiar to me. I used to pray that way when I was young. I also thought God knows everything. In addition, He is sovereign, and His will must be done, not my will. Last year, I watched the sermon of Pastor Robert Morris in Gateway Church, “Sign - A Way in the Wilderness” online. He shared his and his wife’s testimony and said, “We should ask God what we want.” And he quoted the scripture, “For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.” And he emphasized the words, “before you ask Him,” and said we must ask Him. He said he doesn’t know why, but we must, as He said so in many Scriptures. His sermon on asking Him in prayer was speaking to me a lot as confirmation on a certain matter that came into mind at that time. Last year, there was an incident that I couldn’t contain my anger at my mom and yelled at her. Later at night before going to bed, I repented of it and I waited for the voice of the Lord. I felt Him saying He wants me to say something to Him first, no matter whether I am angry or happy. I felt He wants me to talk to Him, even before I talk to my sister or my friends. I felt I should let my guard down in front of the Lord. I don’t really have to try to impress Him. He already knows my motives, whether they are good or bad. He knows even the worst in me. I thought of what Derek Prince said, something like that God would never be surprised when we confess our sins. And I felt He wants our communion and intimacy with Him. It doesn’t matter whether we made a mistake or whether we are angry, sad or overjoyed. His eyes and ears are open to us for 24 hours. Recently, I often thought of the Scripture, “Abide in Me, and I in you.” And I try to say to the Lord in my heart every moment, “Lord, what do You think of this?” “Lord, I’m so hungry.” Not only reading His Words and prayer, but every moment, I’m trying to think of Him and talk to Him. I believe He wants communion with me and intimacy with me and He wants me to be conformed to Him at the end of the day. Dear Friend, Do you like to invite the Lord into every aspect of your life? Into every thought of yours and into every moment of your life? I pray that you and I always abide in Him and He abide in us, in Jesus’ name. Have a bliss! Yunee Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
